Reminders Jan. 28, 2019.

Just a few reminders of what is happening this week...

Math:
We are working on our Summative Assignments this week. The success criteria is on the Math google classroom. Students are expected to have all supplies in class this week and to complete the project in class during the week. If they are not going to be finished for Thursday, they may bring the project home on Wednesday night, but most, if not all work needs to be done in class.

Literacy:
Fairy Tales are being written this week. All graphic organizers and 2 paragraphs were due today. Students are then going to be writing their fractured fairy tale during the remainder of the week. If they finish earlier, they will be selecting a medium to use for their presentation. All Fairy Tale stories and online presentations are due by next Friday Feb. 8, 2019.

Science:
We are continuing our learning about Space, the Stars, Constellations and Comets

Social Studies:
We will be learning about Chinese Immigrants and their contributions to the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway.

Art:
We are continuing our research of Artists, please think about the materials that you will need for your final presentation.

Homework Jan. 25, 2019

Homework:

Language:
Graphic Organizer #3 was due today, some people did not finish it and therefore it is homework and Due on Monday
Your 2 paragraphs/summaries are by the end of class on Monday- use the checklist on google classroom to make sure you include everything that is needed
Your written Fairy Tale is due on Thursday

Math:
Review the expectations for the Summative Assignment- DUE THURSDAY!!! Please remember to bring all needed supplies! Remember that you are being marked on the MATH not all of the detail! Expectations are posted on google classroom-Math

Reminders Jan. 22, 2019.

Just a reminder that our second Winter Electives day is on Thursday January 24. WE HAVE ASKED STUDENTS TO ARRIVE AT 8:00! We would like to leave a little earlier in order to arrive at the hill earlier.
Please be on time, buses will leave shortly after 8:00!

Sunday's Moon...

Hi everyone, I hope that you are all staying warm this weekend but also getting some exercise!  Tonight there is something happening with the Moon and an Eclipse. BONUS marks for anyone that can tell me what's happening tonight in detail!

Homework Jan. 10, 2019.

Literacy:
2 Poems are due on Monday- These need to include 2 different poetic devices, one in each poem. Feel free to include more than one in each poem. The poems must be presented in a "creative" way, see exemplars for ideas. Be prepared to present one of your poems to the class on Wednesday or Thursday.

Fairy Tales:
You need to have selected your Fairy Tale of choice by Monday and begin researching on Monday in class.
If you are using a Fairy Tale from your own culture please bring the Fairy Tale in on Monday.

Social Studies:
Coat of Arms is due on Wednesday- Coloured and paragraph completed which explains why you included the symbols or pictures that you did. How does your Coat of Arms represent you and your family?
