Homework and Reminders

Math:
We have started our Fractions unit and are learning how to split whole numbers into smaller fractions and how the denominator changes accordingly. We will continue our learning tomorrow by playing with the fraction rods and solving problems.

Social Studies:
Today we practiced and studied the Provinces and Territories as well as the Great Lakes in preparation for our quiz on Thursday. We had a really good discussion about September 11 and the World Trade Centers. This connected with our conversations in Language about WWII and remembrance day as well as the book that we are reading Number the Stars.

Literacy:
Students are learning how to research events in our novel "Number Stars" and connect it to the real world as well as to think critically about different events from the novel. This is being presented through comprehension research questions.

Science:
We will be going for a "community walk" on Friday morning to explore the pond close to our school and take pictures of species that belong in the 5 Kingdom Classification chart. Students are asked to bring something to take pictures with.

Reminders:
- Book of forms
- Gym Form
- IBMOD form
- Trip Permission form--- Handed out TODAY! We need parent helpers with their Vulnerable Screening Check
